Merlin James Alexandre Salisbury is such a good sound designer that he won the Design in Production award at the American College Theatre Festival in 2004 for his design of The Least of These, and is single. The theatre department believed that Merlin is so crucial and spectacular that they awarded him the Keith M. and Amy L. Engar scholarship for the 2005-2006 school year. His name is so cool that he is on a streak of around 14 shows without having credit given to his name correctly, a streak he intends to continue well into his Broadway years. Many people in and out of the theatre are jealous that he has been a professional in theatre since 2003 and hasn't had a job outside of it since 2001; included in his recent wonderful successes are two seasons as the prolific Sound Designer for Utah Musical Theatre and the Resident Sound Engineer, Audio mixer/editor, and all around amazing guy for the Marriot Center for Dance. The world definitely needs a Sound Designer like Merlin so much that he intends to enter the professional market as such after he graduates in May of this 2006, unless he is snatched up by a world renown Masters program in Sound Design while at U/RTA in February. For those who wonder what happened in the void of his life from 2001 to 2003, he is proud to say that he served a two year voluntary religious excursion for the predominant denomination of Utah in Taipei Taiwan. Merlin dedicates every show and his entire career to the memory of his father, James Earl Salisbury.
