Merlin James Alexandre Salisbury received the Design in Production award at the American College Theatre Festival in 2004 for his design of The Least of These, and is single. Having so unique a name, he is on a streak of around 17 shows without having credit given to his name correctly, a streak he intends to continue for years to come. He feels lucky and blessed that he has been a professional in theatre since 2003 and hasn't had a job outside of it since 2001; his recent credits include being the Staff Sound Engineer for Kansas City Repertory Theatre, Sound Designer and Engineer for Stages St. Louis, two seasons as the Sound Designer for Utah Musical Theatre, and the Resident Sound Engineer for the Marriot Center for Dance. Merlin received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Performing Arts Design from the University of Utah in 2006, and the theatre department awarded him the Keith M. and Amy L. Engar scholarship for his senior year. He intends to pursue a Masters degree at a yet-to-be-decided graduate program in the fall of 2007. For those who wonder what happened in the void of his life from 2001 to 2003, he is proud to say that he served a two year voluntary religious excursion for the predominant denomination of Utah in Taipei Taiwan. Merlin dedicates every show and his entire career to the memory of his father, James Earl Salisbury.
